  • RSNA 2013 Annual Meeting

    North Building - Hall B: 8140

Since 1992, RSNA has hosted public demonstrations of innovations in imaging informatics at its annual meetings. At the RSNA 2013 Annual Meeting, we will showcase developments in standards-based interoperability that enhance the quality, efficiency and safety of care in radiology. The demonstration will simulate a range of advanced clinical capabilities including:

    • Exchanging images and reports between care sites and sharing them with patients using personal health records (PHR).
    • Creating template-driven structured radiology reports based on RSNA's RadReport template library
    • Performing real-time video notification of critical findings between radiologists and referring physicians
    • Monitoring and benchmarking radiation dose in local and national settings
    • Ordering and scheduling using procedure names from the RadLex Playbook.
    • Exporting image data for education and research.

The demonstration will be based on IHE profiles and the RSNA Image Share network, a pilot project funded by the National Institute of Biomedical Imaging and Bioengineering. It will show the benefits in quality, efficiency and patient safety that can be realized by implementing emerging technologies and best practices in radiology informatics.
